Facilitation vs. Convening
While facilitation is a commonly used term, our leaders focus on guiding the energy of each man in the group toward something distinctive, which generates additional conversation benefits. Facilitation can sometimes feel like a crossing guard – managing flow, enforcing structure, and ensuring things run efficiently. Convening, on the other hand, invites presence; it asks: Who are you in this relationship? What are we being called to do together? It’s not about control; it’s about co-creation.

The Convening Wheel

The Convening Wheel is the process we use for this course. It enhances a transformative engagement to convert purpose into action. The Convening Wheel consists of two wheels – the outer wheel involves what is done to run the gathering, and the inner wheel influences how the participants can be at their best. Who are you going to be in the conversation engagement is an expression of your purpose.
